16th Annual CAMSC Business Achievement Awards Highlights the Accomplishments and Recognizes Excellence of the Aboriginal & Minority Businesses and Corporations, virtually this year

2020 Finalists Announced

Toronto, ON – September 17, 2020 – The Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC) will be commemorating the achievements of its members in promoting supplier diversity and the role it plays in advancing the economies of Aboriginal and minority SMEs.  On November 12th (Thursday), CAMSC’s 16th Annual Business Achievement Awards will take place virtually, focusing on our new and pivoted way of bringing events to our members at their convenience and safety. The finalists have been announced today.

“While going virtual with our Achievements Awards is new for all of us, we, at CAMSC, are committed to celebrating excellence in a world that welcomes, supports, and promotes Supplier Diversity in all its glory”, said Cassandra Dorrington, President & CEO, CAMSC. “We thank our network of corporates, governments  and supplier members for extending their support during these challenging times and we continue to strive for a future where supplier diversity is front and center in all facets of business locally, nationally and globally”.

Eight awards will be given to the recipients who have demonstrated excellence in areas such as business growth, technology innovations, collaboration, employment opportunities, community development and advocacy. A special Recognition Award will also be presented for the first time this year to appreciate pivoting of business and retooling done by CAMSC members during this pandemic to encourage and nurture goodwill in business.

Another highlight for CAMSC Business Achievement Awards 2020 is, there are array of nominees representing various sectors such as Constructions, Manufacturing, Automotive, Financial Services, IT, Natural Resources, Staffing and Hospitality, to name a few.

With over $5 billion spent by corporations on CAMSC-certified suppliers to date, the evening’s presenters and award recipients will share their motivating stories and reiterate why supplier diversity and equality is key in business. Federal ministers will address the virtual gathering to recognize our collective efforts and persistence and the welcome remarks will be presented by Gopal Bansal, Vice President, Diversity & Inclusion, RBC.
