At TD, the diversity of all employees, customers, and suppliers is embraced and celebrated. It is part of who they are and part of everything they do. TD’s commitment to diversity includes a Supplier Diversity program that spans North America and is focused on creating a level playing field for all suppliers.
With this strong internal commitment to inclusion as a foundation, TD’s supplier diversity team has been actively expanding the impact of their program since its launch in 2011. In 2014, they launched a second tier spend program with a targeted group of leading Tier 1 vendors. They also invested in supplier development by launching a North American Supplier Diversity Mentorship Program. The mentorship program offers a series of educational workshops designed to strengthen suppliers’ ability to effectively compete in the financial services sector.
This year, the TD Supplier Diversity team contributed to the CAMSC Playbook webcast series in addition to the CAMSC corporate member forum, sharing best practices on building a business case as well as internal communications. TD works collaboratively with organizations and corporate partners to share information and best practices to grow the network of companies implementing supplier diversity. The results of their program’s growth are impressive. Over the past four years, TD has increased the number of opportunities for certified suppliers to compete for TD business and the direct spend with CAMSC certified suppliers has grown by more than 400%.
