2015 Diversity Procurement Fair

Message from the President

I’d like to encourage everyone to attend the CAMSC’s 11th annual Diversity Procurement Fair.  Our theme this year is Aim High”. This is especially fitting, not only because Toronto hosts the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games this summer, but also because it ties in with our own goal of accelerating growth. We are encouraging our stakeholders to aim high in their business, development and growth goals. In the words of Michelangelo, “the greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but rather that it is too low and we reach it.”

The success of this event lies in the fact that the focus is on giving suppliers and corporations the opportunity to take that first step in making successful partnerships.   I like to think of it as putting all the key ingredients in place and letting the magic happen. This year, the magic starts with a fantastic networking cocktail reception and leads to a day of workshops and meetings between diverse suppliers and corporations.

Kellogg, Nielsen and Prime Advertising will share their stories of success at the “Accelerating Opportunities” session after breakfast and this theme of success will set the stage of the day’s activities. Registrants have the opportunity to select from a variety of Strategic Sourcing Workshops ranging from the Food Services , Facilities Management industry, Automotive Manufacturing, the Staffing and Business Services to Logistics and Transportation areas.

A highlight every year is our keynote luncheon and 2015 is no exception. Sponsored by GM, we are fortunate this year to have Barbara Anderson, CFO, Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan Am Games as our keynote luncheon speaker, who will share how the organizing committee has effectively utilized the value of diversity across the Ontario business and community landscape to make the games a reality.

For CAMSC, the Diversity Procurement Fair is a reality each year because of the generous support of our many sponsors, partner organizations, Aboriginal and minority suppliers and corporate members. Thank you for helping us to fulfill CAMSC’s mission and vision.

To all the attendees this year, have a wonderful time at the fair. I hope it is a successful one. Thank you for helping advance economic empowerment of Aboriginal and minority-owned businesses in Canada. Thank you for sharing our goal to “Aim High” and making this the best event ever.

Sincerely,

Cassandra Dorrington
