CAMSC Celebrates two events

President’s Message:

To mark our ten year anniversary, we held two major events on September 24, 2014. During the day – the Inclusive Prosperity Summit where we launched our Impact Report. In the evening, we celebrated at the CAMSC Business Achievement Awards.

CAMSC’s achievements over the past ten years have been nothing less than transformational as can be seen through the growth, development and success stories of Aboriginal and minority-owned businesses.

Ten years ago CAMSC began as an idea with two employees and had a handful of member corporations.

Today, it’s a powerhouse organization with 75 plus corporate members and a database of approximately 575 suppliers in some stage of certification.

CAMSC is pleased to announce that since its inception in 2004, CAMSC corporate members have spent more than 1.2 billion dollars with CAMSC certified suppliers.

We anticipate CAMSC’s fast pace of growth will continue over the next decade building on the successes of the first ten years and fueled by the changing demographics in Canada.

By 2031, one in three Canadians will be Aboriginal or visible minority.

This dramatic growth in diverse populations represents great business opportunities for companies to incorporate more diversity in their businesses through workforce inclusion, inclusiveness in their procurement programs and through opening new markets.

CAMSC will continue to make bold moves, to build on successes of our past achievements and to forge greater ties with major organizations across North America.

Together, we will build a strong and vibrant business community!

Cassandra Dorrington,
President
