Meet Our Speakers






Danielle McDaid is currently Deputy Director, FTA Promotion at Global Affairs Canada since 2022. Prior to her current role, Danielle has worked in several other positions in her career with Global Affairs Canada and the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service since 2006, including in trade policy, science, technology & innovation, as well as assignments in the field working directly with Canadian businesses in the energy, ICT and financial services sectors at the Canadian Consulate trade office in Houston, Texas, and the Ontario Regional Office in Toronto.  Before joining the federal public service on a permanent basis, Danielle also worked in other temporary assignments abroad in the U.S., UK, Mexico, and the Ontario provincial government.

Danielle has a Master’s degree in Global Politics from the London School of Economics & Political Science, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Spanish & Latin American Studies from the University of Waterloo.






Guillaume Healy

Trade Commissioner, FTA Promotion and Trade Missions Division, Global Affairs Canada

Guillaume joined the Trade Commissioner Service’s Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) Promotion and Trade Missions Division at the beginning of 2021 and has been working on training initiatives and reporting on Canada’s FTAs. Guillaume got his first position at Global Affairs Canada in 2020 as he spent one year at the Regional Office in Quebec supporting the trade commissioner in charge of advanced manufacturing and industry 4.0. Prior to this, he worked as a consultant on trade facilitation for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. Guillaume holds a BAA from HEC Montréal and a MSc in Economic Development from the University of Glasgow.
