As the world’s largest equipment rental provider, United Rentals’ mission is to deploy the best people, equipment and solutions to enable its customers to safely build a better and stronger future. United Rentals also proactively seeks diverse suppliers and ensures diversely owned businesses are given equal opportunities to participate in procurement processes. When an opportunity to be a part of United Rentals’ contingent staffing program presented itself, Fast Labour Solutions Ltd., a division of Spirit Staffing was able to bid for and win the business. The contingent staffing program is a group of staffing companies that are authorized for use by United Rental branches and corporate departments. Internal end users can look up approved companies who can service their type and geographic needs. As a leading provider of recruitment and staffing services in Western Canada, Fast Labour was able to provide United Rentals with skilled staff in the regions that required it. “We understood their needs and were able to provide a diverse workforce to staff in metropolitan and more remote regions,” says Jenny Larocque, Operations Manager, Fast Labour Solutions Ltd. “For 18 years, we have provided staffing services in areas ranging from administration to industrial. As the first Aboriginal and woman-owned recruitment agency in Alberta, we take great pride in being able to work with corporations that have such a dedication to supplier diversity.” “Fast Labour has the bench strength to produce candidates in metro and rural areas where needed,” explains Jamie Crump, Director, Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Diversity, United Rentals. “I met Fast Labour at a CAMSC event I participated in. They bid with some large companies and won the business and have done a great job of providing candidates where needed. It shows from the business they have done with us.” Providing opportunities to forge successful business partnerships is just one of the ways CAMSC supports its certified supplier and corporate members. “CAMSC has always been a huge advocate for us since we joined about seven years ago,” says Larocque. “They have provided us with exposure to companies like United Rentals. The fact that we could bid on a global company with local offices in Alberta was fantastic. If CAMSC had not invited us to the table and put us on their radar, we would not have had the chance to showcase our expertise and ultimately become one of their suppliers.” About United Rentals About Fast Labour
