Canada’s first Women Entrepreneurship Strategy—the first of its kind for women—has launched! Responding to significant gaps in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Strategy represents a significant national milestone in the pursuit of gender equality. It will foster a diverse and inclusive economy that benefits all Canadians. Its success will further Canada’s status as a global leader in women’s economic empowerment. The nationally coordinated, regionally delivered Women Entrepreneurship Strategy will be making important new investments in the creation of a Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub, an Ecosystem Fund to help enhance the work of business support organizations and a pilot funding program for women entrepreneurs. More information will be available this fall. The Strategy will also enhance existing investments, such as the Business Development Bank of Canada’s Women in Tech Fund and Global Affairs Canada’s Business Women in International Trade. Through Canada’s first Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, our government is offering greater support so that women-led businesses can enter, compete and win on the world stage, boost economic growth and create more well-paying jobs in Canada.
